challenging thing

give pure attention
to another human,
attention
that is non-judgemental
that does not jump to interpretation
that is non-critical
that doesn't derive entertainment from the other
but that is pure, silent, alert listening,
the same way
one would give attention to
a child,
a flower,
a tree,
an animal,
a beautiful lake,
a wondrous mountain.
